  1. Oh, It’s so great to see you again, Poppy! I came here to see who this ‘Louise’ was who suddenly appeared in my comments and followers., and what a lovely surprise! Your Golden Valley image is beautiful. I’d never heard of ICM, only my ‘Unintentional Camera Movement’, which happens quite often with me. Your watercolour is charming and I love the colours you used. xx

    1. Aww Jo …you are lovely thank you .. so good to connect again :) big hugs returned .. I think I’m going to be taking a very s l o w unhurried time with finding my way once more . It’s laughable at my age methinks , but it really feels like my first day at Senior School all over again :D except I know I don’t have to worry about wearing M&S and not the regulation grey socks from Dexter Robinson’s the school outfitters lol

  3. It all sounds like you are finding yourself again and have some definite ideas on how you want to work. It is great to hear. I love what you have said and think once you start working on stuff for yourself it is liberating and you will be much happier. Can’t wait to see more.

    I’ve really missed you.

    1. What lovely encouraging words , it’s good feeling more positive with a plan of sorts . I do love landscape photography but would like to be a bit more creative at times with certain images when the scene before me is maybe not such an inspirational composition as I would have liked . Thanks so much for that Leanne x

  4. I’m so pleased to have you back Poppy Louise! I have missed your unique images and take on the world, and your lovely warm comments. I’m looking forward to the continuing instalments. Love both the sketch and the photo – truly a golden valley. Beautiful light coming through the windows of the building, and just the hint of a person walking away.

    1. Hello Anna :) I’m feeling quite enthusiastic with everything at the moment, I just need to get on and let loose with my photography and paints ! Love how you’ve seen these two pictures and find it fascinating that it’s only now I can see that a happy accident with brush work became that ‘hint of a person walking away’ Thank you Anna !

  5. I’ve missed you too, I also wondered who “Louise” was, and I too had a gasp when I saw that first image – I love it! And I’ve had similar fun with ICM – I go back and forth – really abstract, or more straight shot? I like both. But the example above is quite masterful – and I bet you manipulated the colors a lot, to great effect.
Then the watercolor – mmmm, lovely balance between lines holding the image together and brush giving it life. I was wondering where you’d gone, and missed you. So glad to see this. Happy Thursday! And Friday, and, and…

    1. Well .. what can I say Lynn … Poppy shouts out a big THANK YOU !! I must come and have a good proper look at what you’ve been up to .. I’ve only had a chance for a quick peek at various posts . This ICM business is fun by virtue of it being very unpredictable :) and yes you’re right Lynn Golden Valley out of camera was very green inspite of those dry grasses .. I’ve a softer and less vivid version that I plan to layer with another image soon too … Thanks once again and happy days ahead for you too x

  6. Surprises get no better today and surprise it is to see Poppy return, and as Louise – I love it. Happy to see your gorgeous photography again, the opening shot, just gorgeous I might add and one that I can see myself walking about getting happily lost in the wonderful field. And look at your amazing painting – loose and fluid, amazing contrast in colors. Breaks are a wonderful thing, they let you shake out the cobwebs, breath new life into our pursuits new and old, and change the dressing so to speak. I’ve wondered how you’ve been, good to read that you’re exploring new and challenging photography techniques and exploring your own neighborhood through your old friends eyes. Here is a big Texas-size huge coming to you and thank you my friend to coming to my blog and leaving such beautiful comments. Best to you and looking forward to seeing your latest images and paintings!!!

  7. Aww, such wonderful comments from some very good friends. This is what blogging is all about. Connecting with people, getting inspiration and so much encouragement to keep doing what you’re doing. It doesn’t get any better than this. No man, or woman, is an island as the saying goes and it’s so true. We all need each other, especially as artists, struggling to find our way. WordPress is such a great place to find exactly what we need. It’s no real surprise that artist’s have congregated together in different places around the world over the centuries. With WordPress we do exactly the same, but in cyberspace.
I too, really can’t wait to see a lot lot more Poppy!

    2. I agree, Adrian. It’s GREAT to see the work of Poppy Louise and be connected again. :-) Due to life and having two legs in three countries I fall in and out of WP, but you are so right, it’s great place and big chance to come together.
I’m very much looking forward to see lots more of your work, Louise! Whatever you do, stay a happy blogger.
Best regards from the Rhine Valley,
      Dina x

  8. Wow and wow again, that icm image is stunning, I’ve tried it after seeing another blogger doing it. It is NOT easy and to get such a beautiful soft and dreamy look is inspirational. As for the watercolour I now know how very difficult it is,I’m struggling!!!! You make it look so easy, just thrown together, but you and I know that is not the case. Thank you for popping (pun intended) over. I agree, the weeks and months do just fly by. I will eventually be back. We go house sitting again next month so that maybe the inspiration to get back into blog land…. I’m going to hit the follow button so I can keep in touch. You are an inspiration. Welcome back
